Terms & Conditions of Hire

These terms and conditions are deemed to be accepted when you sign the Hire Contract with Easy Roof Box Rentals Ltd hereinafter referred to as the “Company”. The Company registered number is 11800482 Registered Office is Suite J, Silk Point, Queens Avenue, Macclesfield, SK10 2BB.

Definitions

The “Hirer” is the person whose name & address appears on the Hire Contract of which these terms and conditions form a part. The Hirer accepts full legal liability for all the equipment listed on the hire contract(s). The Hirer must be 18 years or older “Equipment” includes Roof Bars, Vehicle specific fitting kits, Roof Boxes, Bike Carriers
and all associated equipment. “The Hire Period” is the date from which the equipment is received by the hirer from the Company until the collection date.These dates are clearly outlined in the Hire Contract(Booking Confirmation)

Conditions of Hire

1. Booking, Payment and Cancellation

Bookings can be made through the website or via telephone. Your booking will be confirmed and a payment link will be sent to your email address via our securepayment portal. Payment can be made via Debit or Credit Card. Please note our fitting team are unable to take cash payments. 

Please respect our no deposit policy a charge of £50 will be made for any cosmetic damage to the roof box or bars. Cosmetic damage is defined as minor scratches & scuffs. 

Where the equipment has been involved in a collision with a solid object such as a car park barrier, other vehicle or similar and where permanent creasing or deformation has occurred then this will be deemed as a complete loss and the full retail value will be payable minus any rentals paid. 

2. Identification

The Hirer must provide an up to date Driving Licence and a recent Utility Bill. The Company reserves the right to refuse hire if not completely satisfied with The Hirer’s identification.

A copy of the identification will be taken at the point of fitting the equipment and detested immediately upon safe return of the equipment at the end of the hire.

3. Liability

The Hirer accepts full personal liability for the equipment from the time the Hirer receives it from a member of the Company’s staff or agents, until full and safe collection at the end of the Hire Period.

The Company reserves the right to charge the Hirer the full replacement cost of such equipment in the event that it becomes damaged, lost or stolen during the period of hire, or until it has been collected by the Company.

Damage loss or theft of any or all Equipment will be charged. at the current retail price minus the cost of the hire that has been paid. Pricing will be benchmarked at the like for like replacement value of the product or equivalent at https://www.halfords.com

 

4. Collecting and Delivery and Fitting of Equipment

Upon fitting and handover by the company’s personnel, the Hirer or his/her agent acknowledges that the equipment has been satisfactorily inspected & confirms that it is the equipment ordered and that it is in an acceptable condition. The Company its staff and or its agents accept no liability for any damage caused either to the vehicle or third parties as a result of fitting such equipment.

Equipment Hire On A Collect & Return Basis 

The hirer is responsible for returning equipment to a mutually agreed location at the end of the hire period where the hire has been agreed on a collect and return basis. failure to deliver the equipment to the company at the agreed time will result in a late payment fee (see clause 6). 

If you are unable to return the equipment to us due to a breakdown or other circumstances there will be a  change of £100 payable for the company to collect within a 30 mile radius – locations outside of 30 miles will incur additional charges. 

5. Alternative Products

The Company reserves the right to supply alternative products as required to the in the event of stocking issues caused by previously damaged equipment or late returns. All equipment will be of the equal or greater standard.

6. Returning Equipment Late.

Late return of equipment will incur a daily charge equivalent of our 4 day rate up and to the point where the cost of replacement of equipment is met. All associated Legal and recovery costs will be added to the total.

a.) Theft of Equipment

Theft of Equipment must be reported to the Police and a crime reference number obtained. The Hirer must notify Easy Roof Box Rentals Ltd within 48 hours of the theft.

7. The Hirer’s Responsibilities

a.) Security of Equipment

The Hirer accepts responsibility for Equipment security until its collection and undertakes not to sell or relinquish possession, alter, repair or modify it in any way.

b.) Safe use of Equipment

The Hirer is responsible for the safe and correct operation of Equipment in accordance with the loading limits of the roof box and Bars and also the Vehicle manufactures guidance on roof loading limits. The Hirer will ensure any non-Easy Roof Box Rentals Equipment used in conjunction with the Equipment also conforms to safety requirements. c.) Removal of The Equipment From Vehicle The Hirer agrees that under no circumstances will he/she or his/her agents remove the equipment from the vehicle at any time during the Hire Period.

8. The Companies Responsibilities

a.) Hire rates

The Company will maintain the agreed hire rates for the duration of the Contract. b.) Cleaning and inspection of Equipment Equipment will be inspected and cleaned after each hire, so it is ready for the next hire in good usable condition, equipment should be in the same condition as received upon collection.

9. Liability

The Hirer will indemnify the Company its employees and or its agents against any claims actions, proceedings, damages and or liabilities arising out of or relating to the Hirers use of the Equipment.
